Stone wool is made from a blend of volcanic rocks, while glass wool is made from sand and recycled glass. Both share similar properties, but stone wool is firmer (so it’s more often used in façades and floors), whereas glass wool is softer and more commonly used for roof, partition, and ceiling insulation.
